Governance as leadership

Rethinking the work of nonprofit boards

We chose this work, “Governance as Leadership” by Chait, William P. Ryan, and Barbara E. Taylor, because it invites us to a deep exercise of reflection on the essential role that Boards of Directors play in nonprofit organizations.

Throughout its pages, the book questions traditional governance practices and encourages us to reconsider the true meaning and significance of the existence of these boards of directors.

At the heart of this reflection is the concept of purpose, a central theme that redefines and guides the work of Boards of Directors.
